In this project I changed the material and function of the pedestal by turning myself into the pedestal. As a female crawling on her knees, the piece comments on women's roles and burdens. The sculpture itself is an abstract gross growth. The sculpture is meant as part of a performance where the performer crawls and tries to balance the work to keep it safe. In this balancing act, the performer appears degraded by this impossible task.
